Ronald McDonald House Charities Ottawa (RMHCO) continues to be a home away from home for families with children seeking treatment at a nearby hospital throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and to abide by proper social distancing, our annual Golf Open held at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club has been cancelled this year.
We will miss seeing your faces on the course this summer but in lieu of attending our tournament, you can still support our current families and the many more who will rely on the House this year.
If you are able, here’s how you can help…
This year, we are excited to introduce the #PuttItFOREward challenge – a virtual fundraiser to support RMHCO through this global pandemic, and ensure that our families always have a place to call home.
Make a donation to RMHCO today to help offset the cost of cancelled fundraising events and volunteer meal programs. Any amount helps keep families close when it matters most.
For every donation made, you will be entered for a chance to win one free foursome at the 2021 RMHC Golf Open held at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club!
Spread the word and challenge your golf buddies to get in on some tournament fun from home!
Share a social media post of you seeking a socially distanced putt at home, or on your local links using the hashtag #PuttItFOREward. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
2. Pass it on! Share your participation and tag your friends to encourage them to do the same.
UPDATE: From August 22nd through 31st Coca Cola and McDonalds will generously be matching donations up to $11,500 so you can triple your impact for families in need.
More than just a fundraiser
Who: Everyone! Seasoned golfers, mini putters, social media influencers, and internet newbies alike.
What: A virtual fundraising challenge to raise money and awareness for RMHCO.
When: August 1 – August 31
Where: Anywhere! Get creative while practicing social distancing and doing your best to stay home to protect your community. Create a putting green in your living room, on your balcony or in your backyard. Or, share a #tbt post of you on the green in years past. We can’t wait to meet you on the course in 2021.
Why: Pediatric illness does not stop for a global pandemic. RMHC will continue to support our families through these challenging times, but our need has grown due to canceled fundraising events and the postponement of our volunteer program. We need your help to raise funds and awareness to sustain our House operations.
