Our Meals That Heal program was created to help relieve our families from a night of cooking. Having a sick child can being extremely draining and with this program, we can take away the worry of “what’s for dinner?” Our Meals That Heal Program offers groups of volunteers the opportunity to extend needed support to these families by preparing a home-cooked nutritious brunch or dinner a few days a week.

It only takes four simple steps

  • Step 1 – Gather a group of colleagues, friends or family members.
  • Step 2 – Fill out our application and email it to Paige McCabe at rmh.pmccabe@rogers.com.
  • Step 3 – Create your menu and purchase your groceries.
  • Step 4 – Let the cooking begin! Our kitchen is your kitchen.

 

 

FAQ

How many people will we be cooking for?
Please be prepared to cook for approximately 30 people.

Who can make up a volunteer cooking team?
A small group of no more than 6 people and all must be over the age of 16.

What time should we arrive?
If you are preparing Bunch or Lunch, please arrive at 10:00 AM.
If you are preparing dinner, please arrive at 2:30 PM.

Is there parking available?
Yes! Please park in our parking lot or in the round-about.

How much time do we need to commit?
Prepare to be at the House for 3 Hours. (This will depend on what you are preparing)

Do we serve the families?
No, you will be preparing a buffet style meal.

How much should we alligate for the budget?
We suggest budgeting between $125 and $200.
(This will depend on what you are preparing)

Are their any allergies we should keep in mind?
We ask that you please avoid using any shell-fish products.
If you wish to use nuts, please label the dishes accordingly.

Are BBQ grills available?
Yes, our BBQ is available year round.
